John Denver was a superstar singer who touched millions with his pop-folk songs Many of them were located in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a Mexican-born singer-songwriter who fell in adore with Colorado. Denver's popular songs about his state brought many people to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame said: "I don't believe there is another performer that embodies Colorado as John Denver." Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its the first member in 2011. Many consider Denver to be the symbol of Colorado. When I travel, you may meet people at the other end of the planet. As an example, you might meet people from New Zealand. And when someone asks you if you're Colorado-based, Colorado people will respond with "Oh John Denver!" Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads is the only Denver Top 10 Hit as a solo artist after having worked in small Folk Music Groups. The song was written in collaboration with Bill Danoff. Danoff had originally written the tune to Johnny Cash's tune in mind, but Denver knew from the first time he heard the first versions of the song that it was going to be an instant hit. The song was recorded by the singer just a few days later after performing it to the awe-inspiring crowd at Washington D.C.
